Now I know we've all been there... those awful days of feeling like we're living in the same day over and over again waiting for the moment when our lives are going to change for the better. Sometimes it is hard to get yourself out of that rut and the best way I found doing that is self-help books. It's hard hearing from other people that you need to put yourself back out there in the world and explore. Unimagined opportunities are open to us but we stay in the same place. Why?... because we are creatures of habit and like being comfortable. But comfort will get you nowhere so a little motivation is always needed. This is where self-help books are key. Reading something moving and raw about a similar situation you're going through is insanely inspiring and almost makes you want to reinvent yourself. Now this list has no real order to it since they all equally moved me and I do recommend reading them all. Even if you're not a reader these are easy to follow and my top picks that'll help you out.

Brianna Wiest has compiled some of the best essays that will get you changing that negative thinking into something purposeful and help you enjoy the life you have. It'll give you a firm grasp on who you are as a person and what direction you see yourself going in.

Like I mentioned we are creatures of habits and sometimes we stay in that toxic cycle that we are comfortable in because it's not new. This book will help you build better habits and how to be "1% better each day." Sometimes those small life changes make for an overall better future and that's what I enjoyed while reading it. It didn't give you impossible expectations that you had to meet but bite-sized bits that will deliver better results to your life. There is a full YouTube APB session on it if you want to get a gist of what the book is like before buying it.

3. You Are A Badass

This one here is a short read in which I enjoyed every minute of. It's so raw about the messed-up situations we go through in life and how we don't even get the credit for how much of it we endure. There is a range of funny stories in this one and great exercises to do in order to reach the great potential you are capable of. Sometimes we need someone to tell us YOU ARE A BADASS and can do anything we want in this life. This book does just that!

4. Get Out Of Your Own Way

Sometimes it is us who stand between you and your highest self. This book helps you identify some of the habits we are so used to doing that may be harming us in the long run. This read will definitely make you reevaluate the obstacles you put in front of yourself mentally and physically. Self-defeat is the worst defeat as I like to say because when you start believing that you are not capable is when you stop growing. YOU NEED TO GROW BABY!

5. Orthorexia

For those of you who don't know what the title of this book means it's basically an eating disorder that involves an unhealthy obsession with eating healthy. Living in today's day and age with all these influencers pressuring us into only eating avocado toast in the mornings and an almond for lunch just sets an unrealistic eating habit and creates eating disorders that get looked over. Your health is always of top priority and combating the food you consume and how you consume them is important in improving your life. Having an obsession with healthy eating can send you into spirals whenever you "cheat" and harms your mental health at the end of the day. So go ahead, eat that pasta because we can't be healthy all the time.
